Your favorite butcher boys return with their third full-length album,
Horrendous Hymns For A Black Fucking Sabbath On All Hallows’ Eve. A
twisted Halloween bag overflowing with blood-dripping surprises, it
delivers all the nightmarish tricks SxRxOxM are infamous for, alongside
nefarious treats and—how could it be otherwise—a cauldron full of meat.
All the trademarks of the SxRxOxM sound are present, but this time, Mr.
Goreblast and his ghouls have unleashed a new level of madness, weaving
in horror-punky vibes, haunting church organs straight from the depths
of the Addams Family’s basement, and numerous nods to the heydays of
horror. Even some melodies flicker through the wall of sound, only to be
devoured by pitch-shifter madness and that savage snare tone everyone
in the scene has been pilfering since the debut of Goreblast in 2006.
Featuring a meticulously crafted layout and artwork that is equally
raunchy and revolting, this album pays tribute to Halloween classics,
with half its material drawn from the likes of Misfits, Type O Negative,
and Black Sabbath (the latter two providing the inspiration for the
album's title). Prepare yourself for an auditory feast steeped in gothic
horror gore, taking you on a journey into the sinister European roots
of the holiday that SxRxOxM have audibly resurrected.
Macabre ecstasy. Subharmonic profanity. Halloween triumphant.
